Recreational Fishing Alliance Delaware Fishing Tournament
Set for August 21
The inaugural Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) Delaware Fishing
Tournament has been scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 21.
All are welcome to enter in one of the three age categories: nine and under,
ten to 14 and 15 to adult. Registration is $20 per adult and includes an RFA
T-shirt. Awards will be given in both boat and surf divisions for the
largest bluefish, croaker and flounder. "Kids 14 and under fish for free"
notes Andy Dehel, State Chairman of the Delaware Chapter of the Recreational
Fishing Alliance, "when accompanied by a registered adult angler."
Registration forms are available at area tackle stores and online at the RFA-DE
website: www.rfadelaware.org.
Prizes include money, merchandise and trophies from area tackle shops,
restaurants and organizations. Tournament sponsors are Cedar Creek Marina,
Taylor Marine Center, Rattle and Reel Bait and Tackle and Lewes Harbour
Marina. Donors include National RFA, the Fisherman Magazine, Eastern Marine,
West Marine, Cedar Creek Marina, Meding and Son Restaurant, Goodyear of
Newark, Delaware Per Sitting Service and more. Ten children rod and reel
combos have been donated by Kurt Fetterman, Bay to Bay Expo. In addition,
Delaware Business Systems will present a trophy to the youths 14 and under
with the heaviest fish overall in both the boat and surf divisions.
Weigh-In-Stations include Cedar Creek Marina in Milford, Lewes Harbour
Marina on Anglers Road, Henlopen Bait and Tackle, 1622 Savannah Road in
Lewes and Rattle and Reel, #6 Leisure Retail Center in Long Neck.

19963 Attn: Marvin Kahl. To find Cedar Creek Marina take Route 1 to Rt. 36
east, proceed 4.5 miles to Marina Lane and turn left to Cedar Creek Marina.
All entrants must attend the Angler's Meeting at Cedar Creek Marina on
Friday, August 20th, 6:30 p.m. All registration must be received by the end
of the meeting. If an entrant cannot make it to the Angler's Meeting, it is
his/her sole responsibility to call for updates on the rules.
Weigh-ins will end at 5 p.m. Saturday evenings, with awards to be presented
at 6 p.m. at Cedar Creek Marina. Food and refreshments will be available.
All proceeds support projects that will benefit Delaware Recreational
Fishermen, such as the Delaware Freedom to Fish Act. For details or
