KDWP OFFERS REWARDS FOR CRAPPIE
Tagged crappie can bring $100 rewards

EMPORIA - Attention crappie anglers: Do you have tags from crappie you have caught at Cedar Bluff, Clinton, Hillsdale, Melvern, or Perry lakes? If so, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks would like to hear from you, and you might like what the department is offering in return.

This year's tags are yellow and have a reward value of $5, $20, or $100. Blue tags are still present in these lakes and some of these are worth a reward of $100. Anglers qualify for a reward when the tag is returned with a completed report card that provides information about when and where they caught the fish and how many other crappie they caught and harvested.

Returning the tags will also help department biologists better manage the crappie populations in Kansas lakes.

Report cards are available at bait and tackle shops around the lakes listed above, Corps of Engineers offices, and KDWP offices. Anglers may also contact KDWP, Research and Survey Office, P.O. Box 1525, Emporia, KS 66801, or phone (620) 342-0658) for information.
